Secrets of the $5 vs $500,000 Car Video

I Almost Didn't Make it to The Bone Yard
It was 3:30 p.m and I was sitting at the kitchen table with my laptop in front of me and my phone in hand. In 3 days I would be leaving the country and I hadn’t gotten the $5 car footage yet. That’s when I called “The Bone Yard.” Steve picked up the phone and I explained the video idea to him and he told me that they are open til 4:30.
I grabbed the camera, jumped in the car, and headed straight there. I arrived at 4pm and pushed open a wooden door that led to a counter with an office behind. I said, “Hello, I’m looking for Steve?” Steve replied, “it’s 4 o’clock,” indicating I was too late. I explained that I live 30 minutes away. He then said, “Go through the gate outside, and hurry before they lock the gates.”
Entering the yard I felt shocked to see so many cars that had been in wrecks and had gotten dismantled. I was surprised that these businesses make sufficient money by recycling and recusing the parts!
As I recorded the video I kept my eye off the gates to make sure I wouldn’t get locked in. This was a bit creepy because every time I thought I heard a worker coming in to shut things down, I didn’t see anybody. Although the wind was pretty strong that day, so maybe I was just hearing the creaks of the car parts.
I said, “Thank you,” to Steve and grabbed a red and white business card and was on my way.
Stopping for gas on the way home I felt a bit uneasy. Maybe it was something about seeing smashed cars that made driving a bit strange.
All cars go to heaven
Working our way up from the $5 car we found a $1,000 Saturn at the Whole Foods Parking Lot. Hoping no one would run out of the store thinking, “why on earth is this girl recording my car,” we kept the shots short since most people are familiar with these common cars. We drove around the lot to find a Tesla, and in front of it was a $200,000 Lamborghini Urus. In between those shots I added my Uncle Jorges Awesome Custom Reverse Trike. The design is so beautiful and the attention to detail has always impressed me!
I'll take another rolls Royce please
As I pulled into the Mike Ward Denver Dealership I was thinking 2 things. 1. Where do I park? and 2. OMG don’t hit anything.
As we pulled up there was a semi truck dropping off a Mclaren to which I felt honored to see in motion and see those beautiful butterfly doors open.
We walked into the Mclaren side of the dealership and asked for Josh, whom I had spoken with on the phone. Josh greeted us and asked me what I was looking for, I told him any car over $500,000. He introduced us to the Rolls Royce, a few Lamborghinis, and the Aston Martin collectors car. He explained that that car will be worth over $4,000,000 in the future. Wow.
Once we finished recording Josh told us to come to stop on by to some events they hold in the future! The whole experience was unforgettable.
On the 1 hour drive home I felt inspired. I felt the need for speed.
A few days later I was editing the video on the plane.
"Youtube Changed my Life"
Keep reading if you want to learn more about my Youtube Journey.
To have had such an adventurous experience like this I can’t help but look back to where I was a few years ago.
A few years earlier I had no clue what I wanted to do in life and I was living for the weekend. I worked whatever kind of job and lacked a clear direction for my future.
I began making Youtube videos to share my travel experiences in Peru. Creating and producing Youtube videos was the best decision I ever made.
Around this time I embarked on a personal development journey. It is true that what goes in the mind affects what comes out.
I replaced tv and rap music with audibles and seminars. I stopped smoking weed, drinking, partying, and wasting time. I began to journal, write daily goals, and plans of action.
Along the way I learned the power of our imaginations and beliefs. I applied this knowledge to making videos. This is how I was able to make a once imaginary video idea into a tangible result.
I went from not knowing what I wanted in life to fulfilling a deeper purpose through creating content that inspires me.
Youtube has allowed me to meet other creators, impact the lives of fans, have amazing unique experiences, and make money from my laptop anywhere in the world. The best part about YouTube is running it like a business, because it is a business.
